In my research, I have discovered that ancient Roman’s entertainment is similar to our own today. Most of their entertainment came in sports, but they were also into acting performances. This related to entertainment today because a lot of our entertainment is based off of television where there is a lot of acting, or sports. Many sports were played back in ancient Rome. Some of these include things like swimming, horseback riding, wrestling, running, hunting, and even different games played with balls.
This is very similar to what we do today. The activities we do have carried down through all these generations we still do all of these thing in society. Even some of their ball games we still have today. Things like soccer, field hockey, and handball we even play in school and use it as entertainment after school.
Secondly, ancient romans would gather in places and watch public acts. This would either come in the form of plays or even watch sports. The would go to massive stadiums like the Coliseum or the Circus Maximus. In these stadiums could hold up to 50,000 people and these people watched events like executions, chariot races, gladiator fights, animal hunts, and there have even been accounts of flooding the Coliseum and having naval battles.
This is a lot like what we do today as a society. Look at all the baseball, football, and basketball stadiums where they fit tens of thousands of people to watch two teams square off against each other while millions also watch at home. Now the sports may be different as chariot racing isn't popular anymore and we do not fight each other to the death but the concept of all coming together and watching activities is a thing that we see daily in our society.
This is my product.
This is similar to my blog topic because some of the sports that take up less space could have been played in indoor theaters or stadiums that romans had potential to build
ReplyDeleteyour blog is very interesting im surprised you didn't mention how there sports were used as a bread and circus to which blinded them from the tragedies going on around them
