I was curious about the history of forks because I personally think they are useless. I am providing my research question/thesis statement early in the post. Ancient authors say that Romans did not use forks, but only spoons and knives (source1). If I had actually done research I would continue to talk about what I found. I'd include why this topic was important to the Romans (they were perfectly fine using their fingers - so why bother creating a tool to eat with?)
I would also talk about comparisons with other cultures or with today. We all know that forks are useful today because we don't like to get our fingers dirty. Some cultures use alternatives to forks such as chopsticks (source2). I'd make sure to include some important words that relate to the topic, such as furca, the Latin word for fork. However, this means "pitchfork" and, as stated earlier, the Romans did not use forks for personal dining, only for serving food.
I'll make sure to keep the tone interesting but informative. Let the reader know why this topic interested you and how it connects with your product. Because I was interested in forks and other utensils for eating, I decided to create my own version of a tool that the Romans might have used. (They didn't use this, but I am providing a "what-if" scenario that is plausible from the research I found.) You can find a link to photos of my product here. Of course if this was a real post, that link would go to something I actually created.
A good post is long enough to provide information and explain your topic, but not so long that you lose the audience's interest. The length of this post is 336 words. Yours should aim to be roughly between 300 and 500 words. Your post will be visible to the world. Have fun researching and writing!
